User guide for the reference management software EndNote.

Importing Sources from Technology and Natural Sciences Databases

Direct import of a single reference:

1.Choose "Export" from the menu above the reference.

2. Choose "EndNote"

3. Choose "Export"

4. What happens next depends on your web browser, but usually the export file will be saved. Choose "Open" from the browser's download list to send the file's content to EndNote.

EndNote will now only list the imported references. References from Compendex/Inspec Archices/GeoRef are usually imported correctly , but the database contains different types of references (articles, books, conference proceedings etc.) and we recommend that you check especially non-article references for errors and missing data. Errors and missing data can be corrected later.

Click on ”All references” in the left pane to see all references in the library.

1. Go through the result list and tick the boxes on the left side for relevant articles for export to EndNote.

2. Tick the box above the result list if you want to export all references in the search.

3. Choose the import icon in the menu above the reference list.

4.Choose the format  "EndNote" from the drop-down menu.

5. Choose "Download record(s)".

2. Choose the tab "RIS" in the next window and tick "Citation & Abstract" if you want the abstract included in the exported reference.

3. Choose "Download".

2. Choose "Endnote" from the drop-down menu.

3. Choose the download icon on the bottom left.
